Getting Started with CargoNext
CargoNext is a comprehensive logistics management platform built on the Frappe framework. This guide walks you through initial setup and configuration.

1. Prerequisites
- ERPNext (v16+) installed and configured
- Frappe Framework (v16+)
- Company, Customer, Item masters in ERPNext
- User accounts and roles configured
2. Initial Setup Order
2.1 Global Settings
- Logistics Settings – Default company, branch, cost center, naming series, portal options
- Logistics Document Type – Document types for document tracking (CI, PL, BL, AWB, etc.)
- Document List Template – Document requirements per product type
- Logistics Milestone – Milestones for job tracking
2.2 Sea Freight Setup
- Sea Freight Settings – Defaults, calculation, penalties, integration
- Default Details and Relationships – Shipper, Consignee, Freight Agent, Shipping Line defaults
- Container Type – 20ft, 40ft, 40ft HC, etc.
- Sea Freight Module – Route masters, freight routing (if used)
- Port masters (from ERPNext or custom)
- Shipping Line, Freight Agent (if applicable)
2.3 Air Freight Setup
- Air Freight Settings – Defaults, calculation, document generation, IATA integration
- ULD Type – AKE, AKN, PMC, etc.
- Air Freight Module – Module overview and workflow
- Airport masters (from ERPNext or custom)
- Airline masters
2.4 Transport Setup
- Transport Settings – Routing, constraints, carbon, automation, capacity

3. Typical Workflow
- Quote – Create Sales Quote (Regular, One-off, or Project type)
- Order – Create Sea Booking, Air Booking, Transport Order, Declaration Order, Inbound Order, or Release Order
- Job – Create Sea Shipment, Air Shipment, Transport Job, Declaration, or Warehouse Job
- Documents – Track documents in the Documents tab
- Milestones – Track progress in the Milestones tab
- Billing – Create Sales Invoice from the job
